Description

In the Old Testament, the wheat-growing season was marked by two events. The first was the feast of harvest, which was celebrated at the beginning of the season when the firstfruits of the harvest ripened. These were reaped from the fields and brought into God’s house as an offering to God. The second was the feast of ingathering. This occurred at the end of the year when the grain in the fields was fully ripened. This grain was not brought into God’s house. Rather, it was for the people as the fruit of their labors.

These events are types — that is, pictures — of a spiritual reality. This reality is depicted in Revelation 14. As there were significant differences in these Old Testament types, so there will be in the reality of these types, when the Lord fully reaps His harvest at the end of this age. These differences are explored in detail in this book.
